I'm in love...I'm in love and I don't care who knows it!!! (A Tale of Cafe Rio Love)

So...a lot has changed since I last blogged, as you can tell by the title of this post. It is true. Also, I am getting married in 18 days. Kind of crazy I know. I will now retell the story of our love. It was a clear Saturday night, April 12th to be axact. My friend Paige, my sister Eliese and my cousin Allie had just left the BYU volleyball game and decided to hit up the local hot spot cafe rio, for a delicious pork burrito. While in line my sister spotted a boy walking with a limp, wearing jeans, a hoodie, a backwards hat, he was kind of thug. I didn't see him until he sat down with his back to us, but that didn't stop me from standing up and trying to check him out. Anyways, after eating my delicious pork burrito, our table was talking, when the boy with a limp got up and it appeared he was walking toward our table. However, he changed his course and refilled his water cup. He would later say he was just getting up the courage to come talk to me. I guess he finally mustered up enough courage and stopped at our table on the way back from his water break. He limped over (he hurt his foot playing softball and no longer walks with a limp) and stopped to introduce himself and continued to chat for a while, we were making eye contact and he was kind of facing me, but I didn't really know who he was interested in. So it was kind of awkward when he had to leave and was like, we should hang out some time. Who was he talking to? Me! He looked at me whipped out his phone and got my number. Some texts and a game night followed and the rest is history. We got engaged a month later and in 22 days I will be Kristin V. Anderson. I hated girls who got engaged and married really quickly, but now I am one of them. I guess that's what I get for judging, it's fine. Anyways that is the tale of my Cafe Rio love. Hit it up on Friday or Saturday nights. Apparently it's the place for love.

David Archuletta

David Archuletta is my favorite little teenage boy singing sensation. For those of you who don't know he is on American Idol and definitely going to win. I often find myself you tubing past performances, amateur videos, etc. So today as I was watching afore-mentioned you tube videos...my mother chimed in with "oh I love him, but his dad needs to back off, he needs to stop making him cry...if he doesn't I'm going to punch him out" M.A. works out...watch out Mr. Archuletta.

I'm A Teacher

Well not really...but kind of...I'm an intern. So this past month has been crazy. I started interviewing for internship positions, even though I still wasn't convinced that interning is what I should do. Anyways for about a week and a half straight I was driving to Spanish Fork, Payson, Springville, Salem...all of the Utah hot spots, interviewing for different positions. I originally wanted to work at a High School, but there were no opening so I tried out the Junior High level, after one job offer and a slight emotional break down by me, I decided that maybe I should try elementary. Well, I found the perfect situation at a great school (right across from a Reams), with an awesome principal who loved me...I said I would accept the position, but I hadn't signed the paperwork yet. So, I'm sitting in class yesterday and my teacher announces that her husband is looking for an intern for Payson High School. It sounded awesome and clearly not having a problem with looking flaky and changing my mind I call up my friend Mike from Nebo School District, who's been setting up my interviews. He was way chill, told me about the job, which sounds awesome...field trips, a part-time teacher in the classroom with me who like started the special ed program for Nebo, and it's at a high school! After discussing my options Mike said the job was mine if I could tell him by 2:00 the next day. So I called Mike today, bright and early and told him I definitely wanted it (without even seeing the school...oops). Anyways, I am super excited, I know I will be busy but maybe I can help with Student Council and sports. I am also a little worried...I've been volunteering in High School's lately and the kids look older than me and some are punks. Anyways...I am a special ed. intern at Payson High School ya!

The best thing that has ever happened to me! Seriously!

I just wanted to tell everyone about the love of my life. Raspberry Beret (newly dubbed) came into my life Saturday, March 22 and it has been pure bliss ever since. Let me set the scene. Recently the weather has been changing in Provo, thus making it ideal for bike riding. I love to ride bikes, it takes me back to the summer after 8th grade when my best friends and I would ride our bikes everywhere, even in the 100+ degree Phoenix temperatures, (we'd do anything for a 39 cent cheeseburger from McDonalds).
Anyways, my bike Buttercup is currently out of comission, so I have been borrowing my roomates bike. I finally decided it was time to find a new, more functional bike, I'm done with the one speed. So on that fateful day I headed over to the D.I. (local thrift store) to see what gems would be awaiting me in the bike department. I have looked for bikes at the D.I. before and choices are scarce so I wasn't really expecting anything. But, as soon as I walked in there was one of the most beautiful bikes I had ever seen, I started to check it out, 1970's Schwinn, beautiful. As I was eyeing the bike a guy came up behind me and started talking on the phone to his wife/girlfriend, he was like "yeah I am looking at the bike right now, it is the male version, they also have the female version...which one do you want?"
What! There was a female version of this beautiful bike! I immediately checked out the situation and as I turned the corner, there Raspberry Beret stood. Beautiful. She has the original raspberry colored paint, with little chipping, original basket, bell and rear view mirror. Best of all, there is a head light and back light that is powered by a generator. I grabbed that bike, sat on it and started to wheel off as that guy came over. He was like "oh are you going to buy that?" and I was like "Yes, peace out". I rode to the cash register and never looked back. Hahahahah. Kind of sad, I bet that guy wanted matching his and hers bikes for him and his lady.
Raspberry Beret was only 15 bucks, I had to get new tires but they were only 40$, total cost 55$, a small price to pay for something that totally changed my life. (pictures soon to follow)

Happy Birthday M.A.

My mom just turned 52 years old on March 18. For those of you who know M.A. or lady, as we like to call her, she does not look 52. She looks good! I just wanted to give a belated shout out to my mom for her birthday. She really is the most amazing mom. She lives for her kids and she really will do anything for me. She is the least judgemental person I know and she is really funny. For example: On Christmas Eve we were watching Mr. Krueger's Christmas and my little sister Laurel said "the little girl in this movie is so adorable" to which my mom replied "yeah, but she probably grew up to be really bad looking". This is the beauty of M.A., she says stuff without thinking...and it's usually pretty hilarious. Shout out to mom, Happy 52nd!

Facebook Videos

I will admit,I usually am a big supporter of videos posted on facebook. I thoroughly enjoyed watching Diane Aikele biff it twice on a longboard. My collab on baby it's cold outside with Maddie Nielsen was a success (as were her re-enactments of "dear diary" and the "hey you" youtube girl). However, recently facebook videos have become the bane of my existence. Some may have seen the recent video posted on my sisters profile from the Rascal Flatts concert. Yes...I was very excited to be there, yes...I was screaming like a little girl, yes...I was yelling beligerent things. We had great seats, I drank out of Joe Don's water bottle and I took some great photos of Gary LeVox's jeans. Wouldn't you be excited? I guess what I'm saying is A. don't watch this video and B. if you do...don't judge me.

I made a blog...

Today I was at work, looking at my favorite blogs when I realized, I should make my own blog. Sure I see my family every week, I am not married, and I don't think that very many people will be interested in my shenanigans, but....why not? I need a constructive, creative outlet.
